Decis 2.8 Insecticide Technical Name

Deltamethrin 2.8% EC

Product Specifications

Mode of Entry: Contact action
Mode of Action: Deltamethrin has strong affinity for the insect cuticle because of its high lipophilicity. After entering the insect body, it interferes with nerve conduction by acting on the axon and altering sodium channel activity. This disrupts normal nerve transmission and ultimately leads to the death of the target insect.
Time of Application: Apply Decis 2.8 according to the crop, target pest and dosage recommendation given on the product label.

Key Features and Benefits

• Controls chewing and sucking pests: Decis 2.8 is recommended against bollworms, sucking insects, thrips, caterpillars, leaf folder, hopper, borers, jassids, leaf miner and pod pests.
• Quick knockdown: The provided product information highlights a remarkable knockdown effect against target insects.
• Residual activity: Deltamethrin provides good residual activity due to its specific physicochemical properties.
• Excellent rainfastness: Its very low water solubility contributes to good resistance against rain wash off.
• Good penetration: Its solubility in fatty tissues supports penetration through the insect cuticle.
• Resistance to evaporation: Very low vapour pressure gives the product good resistance to evaporation after application.
• Repellent and antifeeding activity: The provided source states that Deltamethrin demonstrates both repellent action and antifeeding properties.
